Pipex launches two Secure products

ISP unveils SecureTeleworker and SecureOffice

ISP Pipex has launched two security products that it has claimed will allow VARs to work with end-users keen to stick to the latest security compliance regulations.

The firm has launched SecureTeleworker and SecureOffice. Both are designed to protect users from threats such as identity theft, malware and phishing. The products provide security to remote workers and offices.

Angus Peacey, channel director at Pipex, said: “We looked at what end-users needed and put together a proposition based on this to give the channel the opportunity to differentiate themselves.”

Peacey claimed that the new releases gives VARs a “door opener” on the security compliance front, which is a major issue for end-users.

“Resellers can service compliance and remote-working issues and bundle in normal Pipex services,” he said. “This is an easy sell for VARs.”

Peacey also claimed that the move was not a competing play with other security vendors. “We have spoken with the big software and hardware vendors and they are happy,” he said. “We have 600 UK resellers and we are busy building our tier-one partner base.”

Keith Humphreys, managing consultant at research firm EuroLAN, said: “Going to end-users with a hot topic such as security compliance to sell other offerings is an excellent idea.

“However, I’m surprised Pipex has not used a partnership with a Trend Micro or Symantec-type vendor because they have huge databases of viruses.”
