Viglen snatches EOLP deal
System builder wins lucrative contract to supply hardware, software and services to Essex-based authorities
System builder and VAR Viglen has continued its public sector onslaught by winning a lucrative two-year deal with Essex Online Partnership (EOLP).
The deal, which could be worth millions, will see Viglen offer a range of Energy Star-compliant desktop PCs, notebooks, TFT screens, thin clients and servers, along with upgrade options and services. There is also an option to extend the contract for two, one-year extension periods.
EOLP is made up of some 100 participants, including councils, emergency services, schools and the NHS. Viglen won the contract after a tough tender process headed by EOLP and Braintree District Council.
Bordan Tkachuk, chief executive of Viglen, said: “We are delighted to announce the deal with EOLP. Its approval once again demonstrates Viglen’s ability to provide significant value to the public sector by offering a high-quality, cost-effective blend of commodity IT hardware and the choice of modular solutions-driven services around the desktop.”
