Red Squared gets in bed with Silentnight

Deal with bed manufacturer is services firm's first of two big wins in one week

Integrator and managed services firm Red Squared has racked up two big contract wins in the same week.

The Cheshire-based firm’s first win was a remote managed services contract, worth about £300,000, with bed manufacturer Silentnight Group. As a result of the deal, Red Squared will provide end-to-end support for Silentnight’s new enterprise software system as well as 24-hour systems monitoring and management.

Red Squared had to undergo a rigorous selection process to land the deal, which involved a four-month fast-start pilot phase to demonstrate its technical capabilities and responsiveness and its ability to handle IBM, Oracle and virtualisation technology.

Dave Sheppard, sales director at Red Squared, said: “The timescales involved in the pilot phase represented a challenge, but we were able to integrate fully with existing project teams to deliver on time and within budget. It has been a good start to what will hopefully be a rewarding 36 months.”

Carl Griffiths, technical solutions manager at Silentnight, said: “It was essential we engaged with a business partner whose core strengths aligned with our operations requirements.

“During the pilot, Red Squared swiftly demonstrated its capabilities and was flexible to our demands.”

Red Squared also secured a hardware and software supply agreement, for an undisclosed sum, with consumer data services firm GB Group. The VAR will provide consultancy and training as well as maintenance and support.

Sheppard added: “We have drawn on our expertise in systems deployment and management to design a new infrastructure that will support future growth.”

Dave Cockerill, director at GB Group, said: “The new infrastructure will be a key enabler in the delivery of our new generation of products and services.”
