Fujitsu grows channel team

Vendor adds weight to mid-market push with new appointments

Neath: Fujitsu has been "encouraged" by reseller response

Fujitsu has appointed two new channel heads to coincide with its UK storage market share push.

Alan Pearce, who previously held the role of storage specialist at Morse, has been hired to oversee the development of Fujitsu’s storage channel.

Meanwhile, former DSGi/Equanet account manager Dan Smith has joined the firm to take up the role of enterprise partner account manager, covering the North and Midlands.

The vendor said its latest appointments were the first of many it plans to make to “increase the level of support available to its active reseller partners ".

Darren Neath, channel director at Fujitsu, said: “We are building up a good head of steam and these new appointments – plus the others that will follow – and our continued investment in channel support will ensure we carry that momentum into 2010.”

The appointments follow an announcement made by Fujitsu last month about its plans to double the size of its reseller base to support a push on its mid-market storage products.

Neath added: “We’ve been very encouraged by the response and seen a lot of interest from some very capable reseller businesses. The sooner we can bring some of these new partners on board, the better.”
