Investors shrug off credit fears
The credit crunch has failed to stunt private equity investment in either the UK or global technology market, a new report has claimed.
According to PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Global Technology M&A Insights report, 2008 has picked up where 2007 left off with a string of landmark deals completed in the first quarter, including the $1bn (£500m) takeover of UK reseller Northgate Information Solutions.
Andy Morgan, technology sector leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers, said: “Historically, IT deals have not been highly leveraged to the same extent as property and retail, so the challenges in the debt market have affected the sector less.”
