FutureLink Europe reassures resellers
US parent's Chapter 11 filing will not affect European operation
FutureLink Europe has reassured resellers that its US parent company's recent application for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection will not affect the European company and its partners.
Yuri Pasea, managing director of the UK company, said: "This action relates only to US subsidiaries. FutureLink Europe, a wholly owned but independent entity of FutureLink Corporation, is not affected by the bankruptcy action."
The US application service provider put its UK operations up for sale in July and Pasea said there are a number of interested parties.
Manny Pinon, sales and marketing director at competitor Norwood Adam, said the company would be a good buy for Citrix distributors.
"FutureLink Europe was the biggest Citrix house in the UK for a long time and it has more Citrix engineers than anyone in this country," he said.
However, Sean Fane, general manager of Citrix distributor InterQuad System, said: "We will not buy the company because I think the owners are trying to get their money back. I don't think it's worth that much now."
Pasea said business is currently continuing as usual.
