Progress secures a piece of the Actional
Software vendor snaps up Actional Corporation
Application infrastructure vendor Progress Software has acquired Actional Corporation for $32m.
Actional provide web services management (WSM) software for visibility and runs time governance of distributed IT systems in service-oriented architectures, and the vendor is now expected to become part of enterprise service bus vendor Sonic Software, an operating unit of Progress Software Corporation.

Actional had far and away the most advanced feature set as well as the most robust, scalable and high performance WSM infrastructure.
Progress and Actional have agreed to close the transaction as soon as possible following approval by the boards of directors of both companies and by the stockholders of Actional.
