Evesham claims business as usual
Mystery shrouded the fate of troubled system builder Evesham Technology as CRN went to press.
Although the assembler admitted crisis talks earlier this month led to between 30 and 40 redundancies, it stressed it is still in business and
will move forward with 80 staff.
Evesham, which entered administration last August, declined to address claims that the remaining members of staff have been put on three-month temporary contracts.
However, in a statement the firm said: “Evesham Micros trading as Evesham Technology is still in business. The period of the staff being retained by the administrators has now come to an end and Evesham Technology will now move to a direct employment basis.
“We are looking forward to the next phase in ensuring that Evesham Technology remains as one of the UK’s specialist consumer electronics and IT manufacturers.”
Mark Ancell, head of intelligence at Graydon UK, said: “Evesham is still a going concern, but when it went into administration 75 per cent of the business went. There are still problems there.”
