Standen out as ATC chairman
Company documents reveal ATC chairman John Standen left the firm a month after its buy-out by Daisy
Board games: Standen joined ATC's boardroom set-up in April
Former AT Communications (ATC) chairman John Standen departed little more than a month after the firm's acquisition by Daisy, company filings have revealed.
A notification appeared on the Companies House website earlier this week confirming Standen's directorship appointment was terminated on 7 September. On 4 August Daisy acquired the embattled resale and services group for £7m, the day after it fell into administration.
Standen's tenure with the firm was a brief one, having joined as non-executive director in mid-April. He was put in place to succeed chairman Gerry Spencer, who departed the firm before the month's end.
Standen, 61, spent almost 30 years at Barclays prior to his retirement in 1998. In subsequent years he held numerous non-executive directorships and joined ATC from buy-and-build reseller group Xploite, where he served as chairman.
Daisy was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
