CCD appoints printing guru

Stuart Reid joins as business development manager for broadliner's HP Smart Print Services team

Computacenter's distribution arm, CCD, has appointed Stuart Reid as new business development manager for its HP Smart Print Services (SPS) team.

The appointment comes only a month after CCD revealed Steve Bradbury had joined from HP as its storage category manager. The distributor also appointed Phil King from competitor SCH when it launched its dedicated software division in January.

The SPS team bundles both large single printers and multi function machines which print, scan and copy, into contracts for maintenance, support, consumables and finance with the aim of giving resellers a recurring revenue stream. Imaging and printing product manager Kally Kanda, who leads the SPS team, claimed that a company spending £250,000 a year on printing could reduce their costs to £90,000 by working with SPS.

She said: "Far too many companies simply do not know how much their annual spend is on printing, copying and so on – from depreciation to the cost of paper and toner, this has become a business blind spot."
