Mindjet seeks Microsoft partners

Demand for collaboration tools sees vendor in recruitment drive

Chris Harman: We have had a lot of interest from Microsoft LARs and VARs

Vendor Mindjet is using the launch of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 as a springboard for its latest recruitment drive.

One of the vendor’s key products is MindManager for SharePoint, an add-on designed for Microsoft’s business collaboration tool.

The latest version of the product went on sale earlier this month, and Mindjet is keen to capitalise on the growing popularity of collaboration tools by recruiting Microsoft partners with specialist knowledge of the technology.

According to figures from market watcher Gartner, the team collaborative software market is expected to grow to $2.8bn (£1.9bn) this year from $1.3bn (£876m) in 2007.

Michael Deutch, chief evangelist at Mindjet, said potential partners would not need to have specific Microsoft accreditations to be considered, but a degree of certification would be desirable.

“Building and developing software is what our company focuses on, not providing consultancy services,” he said. “That is an area that we want partners to take a lead on by drawing on their SharePoint experience.”

Chris Harman, director for Northern Europe at Mindjet, said: “We have had a lot of interest from Microsoft LARs and VARs who are looking for ways to add value and drive the number of SharePoint customer engagements they have.”
