Anite doubles up on data centres
IT services outfit builds to open second facility in Berkshire later this year
IT services firm Anite is to launch a new high security data centre in Berkshire later this year.
The building is currently under construction and Anite expect work to be completed within two months. The new facility will give the company several thousand square feet of extra technical space and will initially house 90 equipment racks.
The data centre is the company's second and will work alongside Anite's existing facility in Slough. The new site will benefit from fire detection and suppression systems and will also be monitored by a new Building Management System.
Anite claimed the data centre's resilient air-conditioning and redundant power supplies would offer peace of mind to customers wishing to house critical IT equipment there. Mark Noble, managing director of Anite's managed services division, said: “Market supply is constrained in the UK, but the demand for high quality data centre space is growing.
"Companies requiring space for modern high-density blade server solutions cannot find it, as most providers are unable to supply enough power and cooling to accommodate it. As a leading managed services provider with our own data centre, we too have been experiencing the problem, which is why we have been seeking additional facilities.”
"Anite now owns and run two secure data centres which will enable us to offer very high service availability based upon a Dual site approach which is paramount for sound disaster recovery and business continuity requirements."
