Security integrator to "get more acquisitive" following acquisition by Japanese giant

Jones: This gives us bigger bullets in our pockets

Integralis has claimed it will have greater power to look at future acquisitions, after it was bought by Japanese telecoms giant NTT Com.

The Germany-headquartered security integrator was pounced on by NTT Com last week in a move which saw the firm offer €75m (£64m) in cash. Integralis was the only remaining standalone security behemoth, following the recent sales of Netstore to 2e2 and Vistorm to EDS.

Graham Jones, UK managing director of Integralis, said: “This gives us bigger boats to be able to get through the storm, more credibility with bigger accounts and bigger bullets in our pockets when we come up against the big guns.”

Jones said that with the support of a telecoms firm such as NTT behind it, Integralis will “get more acquisitive”.

He added that the move would not affect existing customer contracts, or stop Integralis working with other telcos.

Jun Sawada, senior vice president at NTT Com, assured Integralis employees that their jobs were safe.

“There will be no workforce reduction as a result of this transaction,” he said.
