Ward moves up a rung on Lotus ladder

Trevor Ward, Lotus and IBM software partner sales manager, is moving on to bigger and better things.

He is taking on the role of executive assistant to the vice president of Lotus EMEA, Pierre Van Beneden, replacing Magnus Stafsing who is to become EMEA marketing director.

Ward joined Lotus eight years ago as a systems engineer. For the past six years he has worked in the Partner Sales group.

In October 1996, he became manager of the partner sales team responsible for the entire UK and Eire channel.

Ward said of the move: 'I am very pleased. It was something I have been looking to do for some time. We are interviewing for my replacement at the moment and a decision will be made very soon.'

He added: 'We are hoping to recruit internally. I'll be about for the next four weeks to ensure a smooth transition for my successor.'
