Teneo scrutinises Southampton NHS Trust
VAR installs scalable network management system to cope with increase in demand
Operating smoothly: Teneo's handiwork will ensure the Trust's network can cope with a growth in demand
VAR Teneo has recently completed a distributed IT network management installation at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The Trust, which provides services to some 540,000 people, previously used Cisco 4500 Series network switches with HP OpenView network management software and Cisco Works to help manage the networks.
It needed a new management system that could cope with a rapid growth in demand, and Teneo won the tender with a solution based on Castle Rock SNMPc Enterprise Network Manager software and Plixer Scrutinizer NetFlow Analyser.
Ryan Hewitt, network manager at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust, was pleased with the results.
“In any large campus environment, being as proactive as possible is important for us,” he said.
“Scrutinizer provides granular insights into what is happening on the LAN and intercepts traffic, spots bottlenecks and addresses issues. It enables us to plan and respond rapidly and is simple to use.”
James Hall, marketing director at Teneo, said: “With simple dashboard interfaces, these products are trusted favourites with network managers who want to proactively manage networks.”
