Dabs.com includes BT-branded services in catalogue sales

E-tailer rings the changes to division after BT buy-out

E-tailer dabs.com has expanded its catalogue sales division to include BT-branded services, following its recent £30m acquisition by the telco (CRN, 1 May).

BT IT Support Manager and BT IT Support Manager Server now feature in the e-tailer’s business catalogue and offer remote support for PCs, servers, software and technical support queries. The move comes two months after Dabs started shipping BT products, such as telephone handsets (CRN, 19 June).

Jonathan Wall, EMEA marketing director at Dabs, told CRN: “We are working with all of BT’s divisions. The catalogue is focused on business sales, but it’s almost as important as our web site.”

Les King, a BT representative, told CRN: “This is part of a continuing roll-out [of BT services]. We eventually intend to make all of BT’s services available through Dabs.”

Support Manager offers a range of different support packages, ranging from monthly support contracts for laptop and desktop computers to a pay-per-incident service.

Support Manager Server is priced per month and per server. It is aimed at all business sizes and is branded by BT as an 'alternative or enhancement' to in-house IT resources.

Wall added that Dabs will eventually look to add both services to its web site, as well as a selection of additional BT-branded services.
