Golding moves into UK top slot at GE Capital

US conglomerate GE Capital has plugged a gap in its staff portfolio after it appointed a UK president and CEO, following the resignation of Joss Stollmann last month.

Jeremy Golding has come in from the EMEA division, where he was business development manager.

Since entering the UK, GE has made it clear that it is on the lookout for acquisitions, including other resellers, but since Stollmann's departure, speculation has grown in the UK as to its effectiveness as an acquisitive company.

One source commented: 'There has been a lot of speculation regarding how fast GE was getting on. This must be related to comments on whether or not, without a CEO, it would have been in a position to make the necessary moves to make its acquisitions,' he said.

Michael Ford, who took over briefly from Stollmann while awaiting a replacement, has been made chief executive of GE Capital Europe.
