HyCurve selects Jones for European offensive

Industry veteran Julia Jones, managing director of Ilion's training arm, will set up the European operation for internet training developer, HyCurve.

As exclusively revealed in PC Dealer, Jones resigned from the distributor after nearly two years' employment (PC Dealer, 7 April). She has been replaced by the former Facility founder, Gary Dyson, who will join next month to head the division.

Jones, who will take up her position as managing director of EMEA at HyCurve in May, will report to Michael Pinkman, vice president of worldwide sales.

Discussing the appointment, Carolyn Rose, chief executive at HyCurve, said: 'Jones' leadership and expertise in the training and certification industry, and her business acumen and relationships, will establish HyCurve as leader in internet-focused training and certification in the EMEA market.'

Jones' initial responsibility will be to establish the HyCurve business in Europe by building a network of HyCurve Sites, securing strategic relationships and implementation of the HyCurve, an internet professional programme, in tandem with vendor-specific training and certification products.

Jones said: 'This will open new markets overnight and it will create positions demanding the e-skills necessary for a wide variety of internet-based business systems.'

HyCurve develops a range of internet-focused training and certification products. Founded in February 1998 by Rose, HyCurve is an independent, privately-held company with headquarters in San Francisco, California.
