Intel in channel management reshuffle
Chip vendor promotes Christine Harrison to UK and Ireland channel manager
Intel has had a management reshuffle, shifting Christine Harrison to the position of UK and Ireland channel manager.
Having joined the chip mammoth’s UK distribution operation in 2002, she replaces Gerald Grattoni who has taken the position of UK and Ireland business development director for enterprise sales and solutions.
Harrison will report directly to Sam Bellamy, European sales and marketing director at Intel.
Bellamy said: “Gerald has done a fantastic job supporting our channel over the last five years and we wish him well in his new role.
“In his replacement, we were looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of the UK channel in order to achieve a seamless transition with no drop-off in support. Christine has worked with our channel for almost seven years and has thoroughly proved her quality and commitment. In Chrissie, we know we have exactly the right person for the role.”
Intel, which distributes in UK and Ireland through Arrow, Avnet, Computer 2000, Ingram and Hammer, has handed Harrison the overall responsibility for the management of the firm’s UK and Irish channel.
On her new role, Harrison commented: “With the economy as it is, one of my priorities will be to provide leadership, guidance and consistency to our channel. Our existing channel programmes work well and we need to make sure that they remain effective. What I will do is provide the best support we can to help the channel innovate around our products both current and future.
“Our products are industry leading and by building products and services around these, our UK channel can emerge from the downturn ready and able to succeed when the market recovers.”
