Hammer hops on Elliptical runner

Distributor signs Europe-wide deal with mobile data centre vendor

Hammer has bagged a Europe-wide distribution contract with EMS

Storage distributor Hammer has signed a Europe-wide distribution deal with mobile data centre vendor Elliptical Mobile Solutions (EMS).

The vendor claims its products, which are aimed at the enterprise, SME users and emerging markets, can be used in place of a traditional or containerised data centres, and are quicker and more cost-effective to deploy.

Through the agreement, Hammer’s European VAR network will be able to purchase EMS data centres that can then be used to host their customers’ storage and networking infrastructure.

Gerard Marlow, general manager of business development at Hammer, said the firm’s products will provide VARs with a “unique alternative” to traditional data centres.

He added: “We believe VARs providing traditional hardware into the data centre marketplace will see the unique benefits that EMS’s products can deliver.”

Don Kennedy, senior vice president of international sales at EMS, said: “We are pleased that Hammer has been able to embrace our technology and look forward to launching our products with the company throughout Europe.”
