Info'Products gains further delay to 1997 results
Beleaguered reseller Info'Products UK has prompted questions over its decision to delay filing its annual results until next year.
According to Companies House, the reseller has asked for a three-month extension to file its annual results for the year ended 31 December 1997, which were originally due on 31 October.
As exclusively revealed in PC Dealer (29 April), Info'Products UK - which is part of the information systems division of Dutch-owned Buhrmann - made losses of between #3 and #3.5 million for the year ended 31 December 1997, with an accumulated loss of at least #10 million for 1996 and 1997.
Companies House said the extra time was requested 'due to overseas business interests and activities'.
This is the second time the reseller has asked for an extension - at the end of July, when the results were due, it filed an application for an additional three months.
Insiders believed the delay was likely to be related to the previous year's poor results.
But one industry source questioned the decision to delay the filing of accounts, stating: 'If the business is recovering and everything is now in order, why would Info'Products need to postpone releasing the figures?'
Another source agreed, adding: 'You don't lose the number of quality employees in the way this company has without it affecting revenue.'
Info'Products UK refused to comment on the matter.
However, when the financial revelations broke earlier this year, Paul Morgan, finance director at the reseller, refused to deny the loss when the figures for 1997 were put to him.
