2e2 and Insight join forces over council contract

Giants combine SaaS expertise to help local council save cash

Working in harmony: 2e2 and Insight have joined forces over Bridgend Council SaaS contract

Integrators 2e2 and Insight have teamed up to help save Bridgend County Borough Council nearly £500,000 over five years.

Under the terms of the deal, the two firms will help the council move its traditional finance system managed service over to a blended SaaS model using the COA Solutions e5 Financial Accounting System. The move will save the council approximately £488,000.

Steve Durbin, group manager of applications delivery at the council, said: “As we look to manage our IT budget, it made sense to move the current finance system managed service to a SaaS model.

“The move will help reduce time to deploy applications, manage costs and provide improved service levels. 2e2’s knowledge of ERP shared service delivery in the public sector combined with Insight’s expertise in the SaaS model, gave us confidence working with both companies," he said.

Keith Williams, managed services director at 2e2, said: “2e2 understands the importance of IT as a key enabler to drive productivity, process efficiency and deliver value, especially within the public sector.

“Our close partnership with Insight has enabled us to offer an increased number of SaaS and hosted solutions that allow local councils to benefit from technologies that deliver a cost-effective service environment.”

Guy Beaudin, public sector business development director at Insight UK, said: “For public sector organisations, the need to maintain and protect front-line services while reducing spending means that they are looking at different ways of providing applications to their end users.

“Organisations that take new approaches to licensing software based on technologies such as cloud or SaaS can reduce their spending significantly. By understanding the requirements of end users, the financial pressures that local authorities and other public sector bodies are under, and how IT in general is evolving, Insight is providing organisations with the flexibility that they require to ensure services meet or exceed the expectations of citizens."
