CompTIA unveils Trustmark

Trade body claims new stamp for security resellers will resonate with customers in current climate

Trade body CompTIA is launching a vendor-neutral badge for security resellers.

Developed with the backing of vendors, including Microsoft, McAfee and Symantec, the CompTIA Security Trustmark will recognise security best practice in the channel.

Successful candidates must go through a formal application process, subject to a peer review and audit.

CompTIA’s European vice president, Matthew Poyiadgi, said positive VAR feedback prompted it to launch the badge in the UK at the same time as in CompTIA’s native US.

“We have had some interest and are planning to put in place the necessary paperwork to launch the first Trustmark,” he said.

“Lots of customers are looking for these stamps of approval, especially in the current climate.”
