Epson revamps Var support scheme

Japanese printer manufacturer Epson will launch a revised accreditation programme in the summer to help target corporate Vars by offering better support services.

The move is part of a restructuring of the UK subsidiary to bring it in line with Europe.

Under the revised structure Maria Florey will head the consumer products division and Robert Clark will be group product manager for business products, targeting the high-end market.

Three sales teams will target retail, distribution/dealer, and corporate Var markets.

Tony Petford, Epson UK sales manager, said: 'In most parts of the world we are number one or number two in each country. But in the UK we are number three, so we want to change that.

'We are reviewing the dealer and Var elements of our accreditation programme to rejuvenate our Vars - we don't do enough for them in the way of technical support and so on.'
