Civica nets bumper BSF deal

QED Wales consortium victory gives VAR its largest-ever education contract

The 13-school deal is set to net Civica £44m over 10 years

VAR Civica has bagged its largest-ever education win in the form of a £44m Building Schools for Future (BSF) contract with Luton Borough Council.

Civica is the prime ICT contractor for a £270m, 10-year contract won by QED Wales consortium.

The deal involves the building and refurbishment of 13 Luton secondary schools.

Civica’s end of the bargain covers the design and integration of a new ICT environment and technical back-up of computing infrastructures. The VAR said the deal would be worth £44m over the next decade.

Work has already begun on the first location, at Lea Manor High School.

Simon Downing, Civica chief executive, said: “We are delighted to be working with the QED Wates consortium and Luton Borough Council and are looking forward to continuing our partnership to deliver this ambitious programme for the local community."
