Rocom adds Simtel to telephony arsenal

Distributor claims new partner's products will help VARs beat the credit crunch

Voice and data distributor Rocom has claimed new vendor partner Simtel Global's analogue phones are a competitively-priced break from the norm.

The first three products to be added to Rocom's telephony arsenal will be Simtel's 8300, 8500 and 9700 phones. The products are aimed at the finance, public sector, industrial, hospitality and SME verticals, with the 8300 being an entry level offering and the 8700 being a higher-end product.

All the products feature a headset port, data port, message waiting indicator, mute indicator, recall, last number redial, selectable ring patterns with adjustable volume, hearing aid compatibility and desk or wall mounting. Rocom managing director Richard Carter claimed the new partnership could be a boon to resellers in the current economic climate.

“We have seen the media reports of the current credit crunch and sought to respond. Simtel Global allows Rocom to offer resellers more choice. The brand offers businesses an ideal solution for maintaining high standards of quality, regardless of potential budget cut backs," he said.

Simtel manager Charles Williams added: “The Simtel Global brand is a fresh, youthful new concept that intends to break the mould in terms of perceptions of analogue phones.”
