Scalable can do it for B&Q IT

Reseller lands three-year managed service contract to support retail titan's LAN across more than 350 sites

VAR Scalable Communications has won a three-year managed service contract with home improvement giant Kingfisher, which owns B&Q.

The two companies have worked together on various projects for more than a decade. Kingfisher IT Services (KITS) has tasked Scalable with managed the company's LAN across all of B&Q's 330 UK stores. The Buckinghamshire-based reseller will also deliver a service level agreement across 25 other sites including datacentres, offices, distribution centres and partner companies' buildings.

KITS distributed datacentre spreads across two sites linked by Extreme Networks technology. The sites are home to hundreds of servers which run transactional data during the day and stock replenishment overnight.

Scalable's managing director Simon Brown said: “Building strong relationships and delivering consistently high quality work is how our business has consistently grown and we are delighted Kingfisher trusts us to work in this way. Our team is onsite on a weekly basis, working closely with the KITS team and to ensure all of the systems are running smoothly.”

KITS' group networks manager Richard Pooley added: "It is essential for us to trust such an important part of our business to a company who has consistently delivered projects on time and to budget. We believe Scalable is the company to work with and have awarded the three year contract as a result of this.”
