Compaq's defence against claims that it is not millennium compliant has been filed with the Advertising Standards Authority quoting experts, including GartnerGroup, saying its PCs face only a 'small risk'. It also claimed 26 other vendors use the NSTL year 2000 test. Richard Coppell, Prove It 2000's managing director, said Compaq's letter proved the complaint he made to the authority when the manufacturer first advertised its machines as millennium compliant.
