Medium sizes up approach to video

Beyondis takeover concludes with complete consolidation

Beyondis distributed LifeSize video conferencing kit

Audiovisual distributor Medium has brought video conferencing specialist Beyondis in-house, concluding the acquisition process that began with the acquisition of the rival distributor in late 2009.

The business unit will trade as Medium UK.

Ian Sempers, managing director at Medium UK, said the move was about consolidating the distributor’s service offering.

“By incorporating the full range of video communication products and services into our head office, we can provide our customers with an integrated platform of products to generate additional growth,” he added.

Beyondis focused on video conferencing offerings using HD hardware from LifeSize.

Kristian Davies, divisional manager at the Medium UK video conferencing division formerly known as Beyondis, said video conferencing is a vibrant area for audiovisual sales.

Recruitment is also underway for sales people based in the UK to strengthen its video communications offering.

“I believe our ability to supply screens, furniture and complementary products - as well as a video communications team providing technical support and service – puts it in a strong position.”
