Northern VAR alliance welcomes new recruits

Exa Networks, Kodit and Sitr join the IT Alliance

IT supplier group the IT Alliance aims to emulate Computacenter’s one-stop-shop model in the SME space after enlisting three more members.

Founding members Galtec, Dapo and Sol 5 all based in the North have now been joined by Bingley-based business broadband provider Exa Networks. The group has also started working informally with two Cheshire-based firms asset management specialist Kodit and IT disposal outfit Sitr.

Members share information and earn a commission for introducing an IT Alliance partner to their customer base.

Mark Adams, managing director of Galtec, which specialises in hardware resale and maintenance services, said: “Computacenter and SCC offer total lifecycle services from consultancy to disposal [in the enterprise space]. But SMEs have to go to five or six suppliers to buy those services. We now have it all under one roof.”

Mark Elders, sales manager at Exa, said: “This gives us the ability to cross-sell. None of us is in competition with each other so it expands the customer base for all of us.”

Paul Jenkins, vice president of sales at Kodit, which specialises in asset management software-as-a-service, said Kodit and Galtec had already completed their first joint project for a school.
