Codework grows 2009 sales by a third

Security VAD boosts services and licence sales and targets more growth this year

On the up: Codework grew its top line by 34 per cent in 2009

Security distributor Codework grew 2009 revenue by more than a third after developing a £1m services business.

The Symantec partner saw turnover for last year rise 34 per cent annually to £13.2m. In July, Codework was handed access to Symantec's security portfolio, having joined the vendor's distribution stable through its acquisition of IT management software firm Altiris.

Codework claims its increased licence sales last year were partly fuelled by a portfolio of strong brand names. The Stockport-based firm also hailed the contribution of its services arm, which grew sales past the £1m mark last year.

Sales director Divyesh Lakhani said: "Our 2009 financial results exceeded the performance targets we laid out at the beginning of the year. There has been growing acknowledgement of our reputation as a true value-added distributor, which offers a higher level of customer service and technical expertise to channel partners.

"With the momentum we have built up, and recent additions to our product portfolio, all indications are that Codework will continue with further significant growth in 2010."
