BackupAgent has Solid UK foothold

Dutch online backup vendor hunts for UK SaaS partners after scoring VC cash

BackupAgent is using its cash injection to expand

Dutch online backup software vendor BackupAgent is taking a crack at the UK market after bagging funding from Solid Ventures.

The firm is poised to begin trading with three UK service providers after announcing the BackupAgent Partner Programme last week. It competes with the likes of Attix5 in the UK.

BackupAgent is hunting for software-as-a-service providers that are looking to add hosted online backup to a standard webhosting, hosted email, hosted SharePoint and hosted CRM product range.

Roland Sars, director marketing at BackupAgent, said the company currently works with 250 partners, spanning 20 countries.

“Margins can hit 60 per cent for the service provider,” he said. We have a target to reach as many end users as possible through service providers that use their own datacentres and infrastructure.”

Sars added that the firm plans to open a UK office next year.
