Hazel joins long line of departures from Info'P
Beleaguered reseller Info'Products has lost another member of staff following the resignation this week of Richard Hazel, who headed the project management group.
According to industry sources, Hazel tendered his resignation because of growing disillusionment with the management hier-archy at Info'Products. Hazel was formerly head of project management at Simmons Magee, which was acquired by Info'Products in March 1997. It is understood he was promised a position on the board of directors when the resellers merged, but this never materialised.
His departure means installations manager Brian Wathen is the only former Simmons employee in a senior position at Info'Products.
A former Simmons senior manager blamed the incompetence of the Info'Products management for the departures: 'The acquisition was a disaster. Info'Products spent #16 million and then watched the people it had invested in walk out.'
Another source predicted Hazel would follow other ex-Simmons staff to a large rival reseller such as Computacenter or Bytes Technology Group.
Info'Products has been plagued by problems since the beginning of the year, including the departures of human resources director Simon Norris, director of business development Howard Dickel and sales director Norman Kough, after losses of more than #10 million were uncovered (PC Dealer, 29 April).
