Clarity rebuffs job speculation
Sun partner denies rumours of staff cuts
Sun Channel Development Partner Clarity has countered speculation that the firm is set to make staff cuts.
Rumours were rife last week, but the firm was quick to dispel them. "There are no confirmed plans to do anything," said Simon Welsh, group marketing manager at Clarity.
"We are looking at our cost base for next year, as we do every year. We are still a profitable company. There is no foundation for [these rumours]."
However, a source close to the firm told CRN that Clarity was having problems because of the Sun market. "The margin is poor, revenues are down and they aren't making enough margin," the source claimed.
Greg Carlow, managing director of reseller Repton, said that everyone was finding the Sun market tough. "The Sun business is well down on last year; it's just not selling like it was," he said.
Clive Longbottom, service director at Quocirca, said: "Buyers are worried, and this has hit Sun's numbers. That worries the market further."
