Magirus targets VDI push with Liquidware
Distributor claims new vendor signing will help smooth VARs' path to desktop virtualisation
Collins: Liquidware's technology helps speed up sales cycle for VARs
Magirus has claimed its recently formed alliance with Liquidware Labs will reduce the amount of time it takes resellers to complete desktop virtualisation projects.
The firm recently signed an EMEA-wide distribution agreement with Liquidware, agreeing to help market the vendor’s desktop virtualisation capacity planning and migration assessment tools.
Kevin Collins, solutions development manager at Magirus, said: “VDI rollouts are time consuming and labour intensive, but Liquidware’s technology helps make the migration process simpler, speeding up the sales cycle for VARs.”
Collins revealed that Magirus had been in discussion with Liquidware for two years, but had decided against a partnership until now.
“Liquidware was very early to the market with its products, but the interest that is being shown in VDI now was not there back then,” he said.
An upsurge in demand for products in the distributor’s VMware portfolio prompted the firm to reconsider, explained Collins.
As well as Magirus, Liquidware also relies on SCH Distribution and CDG UK to market its products in the UK.
Sonja Pelichet, general manager for EMEA at Liquidware, denied competition would be an issue. “They all cover different types of customer, so there is no risk of overlap,” she said.
