Avnet shuffles networking and security team

Pete Hannah promoted to new post of sales director of networking and security, as former Sphinx manager fills the role he vacates

Distributor Avnet Technology Solutions UK has created a new position of sales director of its networking and security business.

The role, which will be filled by Pete Hannah, was created to "increase executive-level engagement with key business partners".

Richard Snape has moved to Avnet to take up Hannah’s previous position of Juniper business manager.

On his promotion Hannah said: “There is great scope within Avnet to grow the networking and security business and I’m relishing the opportunity to work closely with a broader section of our key partners to ensure they are maximising Avnet’s value and to support them in identifying new revenue streams.”

With more than six years' experience in this technology area, Snape joins Avnet from Sphinx where he was also Juniper business manager.

Snape said: “I joined Avnet because I believe it has a strong and differentiated message in the networking and security space. In addition, it is able to execute an effective solutions proposition for its business partners which puts Avnet in a clear position of strength.

“This is a great opportunity as I’m joining the business at a point where it is expanding and I will be managing a vendor who is a key strategic partner to Avnet and clear industry leader.”
