Viatel launches data packages
ISP unveils co-location PBX and Next Generation Voice services
Business-only ISP Viatel has unveiled two new packages designed to help voice VARs branch out into the data market and networking VARs move in the opposite direction.
Viatel’s new co-location PBX service will allow voice VARs to locate customer IP PBXs in Viatel’s premises and draw on the ISP’s digital subscriber line and multiprotocol label switching IP VPN services.
Conversely, Viatel’s new Next Generation Voice service is aimed at data resellers looking for a simple entry into the managed voice arena.
Neil Watson, director of indirect sales at Viatel, said: “Our network services allow resellers to provide managed services, but how much they want to do themselves is up to them.”
Paul Blundell, managing director of iQual, said: “This is a good move but many of my clients are nervous of moving things off their premises.”
