Giants to join forces over IP
Motorola has teamed up with Cisco
Telecoms behemoth Motorola has teamed up with Cisco as part of a wider strategy to expand its partner network.
Jeff Miller, vice president for enterprise mobility solutions at Motorola, said: “We have a growing relationship with indirect channel partners and have over 2,000 in the EMEA region.”
The news came as Motorola announced it is working with Cisco to provide a mobility solution offering Wireless LAN and IP telephony connections for mobile devices.
Tim Stone, senior marketing manager for IP communication EMEA at Cisco, said: “The solution will save costs and enable mobiles to be managed more efficiently.”
Motorola had previously worked with Avaya on a similar project. Carolyn Nguyen, director of mobility strategy at Avaya, said: “A reseller could benefit by trialling the solution and make a short term revenue boost.”
