M86 to launch learning management system

Security vendor moves from "haphazard" to repeatable partner training regime

missing piece in the jigsaw: M86 says partners will benefit from its more cohesive approach to training

Web and email security vendor M86 has spruced up its partner training regime after admitting its old manual approach lacked clout.

The vendor, formed from the recent union of Marshal, 8e6 and Finjan, has invested in a learning management system that will be available to partners from 5 May.

Chief operating officer Bruce Green said each of the three firms have had a “degree of training”, but that it is not repeatable.

“Before it was done individually and manually, so it was haphazard and difficult to keep up with who was and who was not trained,” he said. “This brings all our products together under one cohesive programme.”

Green said that recently acquired Finjan’s UK business is now fully integrated and argued that M86 now has the physique to out-muscle the market giants.

“We now see ourselves as the biggest of the small guys and the smallest of the big guys,” he said.

“This year is very much about integrating the firms we bought. We did four transactions last year, giving us the building blocks to be a serious player in the email and web security space.”
