Integralis eyes overseas firms

Integrator completes first acquisition in the Middle East

Security integrator Integralis has completed its first acquisition in the Middle East and has confirmed its next targets will be based in the US and UK.

Last week the firm acquired ProtechT – which specialises in identity access management and has offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi – for an undisclosed sum.

Graham Jones, chief operating officer of Integralis, told CRN: “This is our first footprint in the Middle East and our next challenge is how to use its technology across the whole Integralis group and also how to take Integralis’ managed services model into the Middle East.”

Jones said the firm will keep its name for the time being, before eventually being rebranded as Integralis Middle East over the coming year.

“We want this to be the start of our Middle Eastern base,” he said.

Earlier this year Jones said Integralis was looking at two UK service and consultancy targets, but last week he confirmed the acquisition talks had ended because the companies were not a good fit.

However, he said once the Middle Eastern acquisition had settled, Integralis is planning to set its sights on the US and UK.

“The US is a huge opportunity for us and if we find the right niche player in the UK we will definitely go for it,” he said.

Steve Smith, managing director of rival security player Pentura, agreed that the US was a good opportunity.

“We are actually looking to expand outside the UK, although we are planning organic growth in the US rather than acquisition,” he said. “Larger customers are more interested in talking to VARs if they have a global presence and the US channel in general seems to be lacking that consultancy approach.”
