Gamers thank Kingston for the memory

Vendor's new HyperX 1800MHz DDR3 memory has been certified under Intel's XMP validation programme, giving PC builders more performance memory options

There might be a dwindling band of system builders in this country, but the ones
that have survived were given more options last week. Kingston Technology gave
system builders a wider choice to offer to users of Intel Core 2 Extreme-based PCs.

Kingston's new HyperX 1800MHz DDR3 memory has been certified under the Intel
Extreme Memory Profile (Intel XMP) validation programme. This means PC builders
and gaming enthusiasts can enjoy more performance memory options. It gives
builders of high-performance systems more flexibility when using select Intel
X38/X48-series chipsets.

Many of the memory maker's motherboard partners had already released XMP-ready
offerings and were champing at the bit, waiting to take immediate advantage of
HyperX XMP-certified memory on current X38 and X48 platforms, admitted Marc
Bernier, Kingston Technology's.

Kingston's HyperX modules will increase overall system performance when
paired with select Intel X38/X48 series-based motherboards.

Designed for both the novice and experienced overclocker, the XMP profile makes it easy to overclock a PC by giving the end users predefined profiles in the BIOS. Manual adjustment of Kingston HyperX XMP modules’ frequency and timings is an option for the more technically adept.

Prices range from £109 (for a 2GB Low-Latency 1375MHz module) to £140 for the
1800 Mhz 2GB memory module.
