Former Nortel boss Barry Bonnett to run HP's UK networking business as Darryl Brick moves on

HP has confirmed that former Nortel president Barry Bonnett has replaced Darryl Brick at the helm of its UK networking business.
Brick had headed up HP Networking, or ProCurve as it was formerly known, since the departure of long-standing boss Jon Weatherall in 2007.
HP confirmed in a statement that Bonnett has been appointed as HP Networking country sales director for UK and Ireland, effectively immediately. His arrival comes at a time when HP is keen to forge a position as the clear number two in the networking space, following its acquisition of 3Com.
Bonnett, who was president of Enterprise Europe for Nortel between 2008 and January this year, will report into HP Networking EMEA vice president Carlos Sartorius.
It is as yet unclear whether Brick is staying on at HP and he could not be reached for comment.
However, the vendor said in a statement: “Barry will succeed Darryl Brick who has been a key contributor in building a strong sales team and establishing a successful
ProCurve business in this region over the last three years. HP wishes to thank Darryl for his contribution.”
