DSGi Business rubbishes redundancy rumours

Firm reshuffles staff as part of restructuring but insists no jobs have been lost

DSGi has scotched rumours of further redundancies at its DSGi Business arm by revealing that it is ‘transforming’ the business.

Several sources had hinted that more jobs had been lost at the DSGi Business division, which comprises Equanet, PC World Business and MacWarehouse.

However, the retail giant told CRN earlier this week that it had made a number of changes to internal roles and operations. It claimed that these would benefit customers and new roles had been created, although it was unable to go into any detail about these.

“We are continuing our transformation programme to deliver an efficient, customer-focused organisation which will be even more profitable and competitive going forward,” the company said in a statement.

A DSGi representative added: “As we are creating roles as well as removing them, all colleagues have the opportunity to apply for new positions and we do not anticipate any reductions in the number of employees when this process concludes.”
