InTechnology cuts staff

Eight jobs lost as distributor restructures its UK sales operations

Distributor InTechnology has cut jobs as it strives to bring Allasso UK in line with its existing operation while standing by its claim that the acquisition will not result in major restructuring.

InTechnology, which plans to use Allasso's pan-European status to become a £500m firm, is cutting eight jobs in the UK.

Mark Jarvis, divisional director marketing at InTechnology, said: "As the firms integrate there are overlaps in responsibilities. We have reorganised our UK sales operations into security-vendor-dedicated teams."

Lee Harrison, business development director at security distributor e92plus, questioned how InTechnology would provide resellers with the same level of security expertise following the loss of Allasso staff.

However, he said: "If this had happened 12 months ago it would have been a bigger issue because storage, networking and security resellers were different animals, but now the skills are similar."

One of the casualties is long-serving sales and marketing director Bernie Dodwell, who was unavailable for comment.
