Teneo bags NHS network management deal
VAR rolls out Castle Rock solution for Cardiff and Vales NHS Trust
Application performance management reseller Teneo has implemented a network management solution for Cardiff and Vales NHS Trust.
The Trust predominately uses Cisco networking equipment and it was Cisco that recommended using the networking management vendor Castle Rock’s SNMPc Enterprise solution.
Cisco also recommended Teneo to implement the solution across the Trust’s 150 sites.
James Hall, head of marketing and operations, Teneo Limited, said: “Teneos’s association with Castle Rock goes back a long way and whenever we have installed a SNMPc solution it becomes the critical nerve centre for the network which customers really rely on.”
Hall added: “It pinpoints problems on the network and simply by looking at the network map, users can quickly see where there are issues, so they can concentrate their efforts on where it is needed most.”
The Trust’s existing Cisco Works Platform solution was not coping with the organisation’s 13,500 employees and 7,000 network points, Teneo claimed.
Andy Page, network manager at Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, said: “One of the key benefits with using SNMPc is how it enables us to increase efficiency. If a red light shows on the SNMPc screen we can get out to it straight away and sort out faults immediately.
“Our network is crucial, for example we send the data results of over a million blood samples per year. SNMPc has become an integral part of the smooth running of the Trust’s network.”
