Kingston signs up Blackcube
Memory vendor looks to ramp up UK digital media sales with new distributor
Kingston Technology is looking to ramp up UK digital media sales and has signed specialist distributor Blackcube to increase market reach.
Initially, the partnership will centre on the distribution of digital media memory into the photographic channel, but the two firms plan to branch out into the blossoming mobile market, said Ann Keefe, UK and Ireland sales director at Kingston Technology.
"Digital media is a very fast-growing market for us. Last year in the UK we grew by 600 per cent, and this year we plan to grow by 47 per cent. We are hoping to achieve $25m flash memory sales in the UK," she said.
Keefe said the vendor partnered with Blackcube because it offers a "different type of business model to Kingston's traditional IT resellers, but also complements its existing channel".
Colin Bowler, a representative for Blackcube, said: "We are delighted to be working with Kingston, and know it will be a successful relationship."
