Controlware has released an analogue modem module (above right) which provides four independently configurable V.34 modem ports for use with primary rate ISDN access. The Taxi product allows the user to dial into a central site from an analogue modem.

3Com has released a Fast Ethernet network interface card which works with the industry standard architecture bus. The 10/100Base-TX parallel tasking card is intended to offer an easy migration to high-speed networking.

Pericom Software has developed a series of terminal emulation products which the company says can effectively replace leased lines and cut communication costs by using dialup ISDN connections. An ISDN Capi 2 interface has been implemented by the company in its latest release of Teemtalk for Windows.

A dual-port Sbus card , designed to take the heat off scarce card slots across a Wan, has been released by Adax. The APC-SBX card provides a dedicated processor for each port, which avoids the problem of splitting processor power.

UB Networks has increased the range of its Georim product family. The Georim/T 8-port Token Ring switch has high-speed FDDI and ATM uplinks which offer the user increased interoperability, speed and bandwidth.

A four-port expansion module is now available, priced at u500 per port.

Crosscomm has brought out an entry-level network management application for use with its own network devices. IMS Express is a 16-bit application which is compliant with existing network standards and is SNMP/IP only.

The application will run on Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, Windows 95 and Windows NT as well as OS/2 in Windows emulation mode.

Hummingbird Communications has developed a 32-bit, Windows NT-compatible suite of applications called Suite Maestro. The multiplatform TCP/IP application enables easier software installation, desktop customisation and is intended to reduce the overall costs of software ownership.

Allied Telesyn International has added to its range of workgroup switches with the AT-3716TR. The new 16-port Ethernet workgroup switch has a 100Base-TX uplink for use with a network backbone or server. Bandwidth is 260Mbps and management options include SNMP, Telnet and an RS-232 port for a serial console.
