Intervoice gets set for change
Vendor launches four packaged IVR applications aimed at SMEs
Interactive Voice Response (IVR) vendor Intervoice has launched four packaged IVR applications aimed at SMEs.
The products are built on VXML and speech application language tags, which are technologies used heavily by Microsoft in its recently launched CRM package.
"Microsoft is coming into our marketplace as a partner - it is going to change the market," said Simon Edwards, director of international marketing at Intervoice.
"The voice application side of things will become a commodity market, and as a result we've been developing our own packaged voice applications."
The vendor's Omvia Voice Express package currently features four applications, with a further six to eight applications in development.
Currently, Express offers Communicator, Identifier, which allows users to identify themselves to a system, Survey and Locator.
Survey provides questionnaires for in- and out-bound calls, and Locator enables callers to find information about facilities in their local area.
"IVR is not something we are going to adopt immediately with the end of the market we are targeting," said Malcolm Cade, operations manager at reseller NEG.
