Websense to check VAR standards
Web security vendor asks authorised partners to come up to scratch
Dunne: We were a bit mild on partners last year
Websense has kicked off a clean-up operation to ensure all its authorised resellers are up to scratch.
Over the next six months, the web security vendor will be working with VARs to ensure they conform to the standards around revenue targets and technical manpower.
The vendor inherited about 50 partners from the 2007 acquisition of rival SurfControl.
Pat Dunne, senior director of the UK and Ireland at Websense, said: “We were a bit mild on partners last year due to the SurfControl acquisition. We allowed them a lot of time to get on board, but we are now asking them to come up to scratch.”
Dunne stressed Websense would sit down with problem partners to discuss a way forward before kicking anyone out of the programme.
