Adtcom at Centia stage

Merger creates pan-European server-based computing distributor, Centia Europe

Centia and Adtcom have merged to form a pan-European server-based computing distributor, which will be relaunched as Centia Europe.

Yuri Pasea, founder of Centia, which was created after a management buy-out at FutureLink Europe said Adtcom's server-based computing hardware business would complement Centia's software-dominated portfolio and skills.

"This is about growth and looking for new opportunities," he said. "Centia always had European ambitions and it can now attract vendors that want a wider European presence."

Adtcom has a presence in Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Holland and the UK.

Paul Robinson, managing director of reseller Thin Store, said the new company would be "a force to be reckoned with in a focused area of computing".

Tom Doddey, managing director of reseller Hartland Systems, which has bought through both companies, said: "Adtcom and Centia are going in the same direction and there is a rationale, in a tough market, in securing the future as one company."
